SOMEONE RECOMMEDED ME THAT I MIGHT GO WITH A TH400 FOR MY 408...WOULD U RECOMMEND THAT? I FOUND THE ADAPTER FOR IT? KINDA ON A BUDGET HERE BUT I NEED A AUTO TRANNY THAT CAN HOLD ABOUT 6-700 HP

You can build a C4 or AODE that can handle that kind of abuse.  The TH400 takes money to make it strong enough as well, but is a very good transmission.

If you are going to build a transmission use a C4, if you find a great deal on a built TH400 with all the fixins for bolt up, buy that.

Its funny how many of these high powered 3" stroke motors are talked about, but very rarely happen to make it to the strip and back up all the hype. 

I'd rather be a fool who is loyal to his friends than a POS that jumps ship to save face. We were wrong in the end, but nobody can ever call us disloyal. I can live with that.
