Sounds like a timing problem honestly. Maybe one tooth off

you think it may have jumped time then, i wondered about that but i didnt know i always thought if it jumped time it wouldnt run at all , i'm not really good at this mechanicing anyways , i have a 77 f250 that has a 400 and the only prob i've ever had with it is the starter and the solenoid,so stuff like this just kinda stumps me.

Could very well be a lean condition - what pressure is your pump pumping under load?

429-460, the 400 needs some serious issues addressed first though. Tim Meyer has a hyper piston tat puts it at 0 deck which is the first problem with the 400.

that's what i thought.  i saw some stuff on ebay that was efi, but the seller said it was for the 351M..should i correct him, or just let him be wrong?  this is a question of ethics...to let the ignorant remain so...

and for the record, i was about 99.99% sure there was never a factory efi M engine.

Some classes?  Lots of classes - and more and more every year. . . Iowa demanding as much or more CLE in ethics as any other state.  So yes - that previous post was all - sarcasim!

Thats me just playing on the stereotypes we lawyers deal with every day. . .

Being an Attorney used to command respect - people would wish for their kids to grow up and become Doctors or lawyers . . . that is all different.  Most people view lawyers as bottom dwelling scum that charge to much.   Until they need one of course. . . . kinda like cops, everybody hates them till they need one, then they are the second comming.

Its a shame that a few lawyers ruined the profession for the rest of us. . .
