To do a quick intro, I'm paladin, mid 50's guy . ex-racer{nascar circle track stuff}, worknig on making a 65 mustang with 351 w at least presentable n public. recently bought the car still trying to find out what I have and fix all the dunb stuff I find in it. So far finding out I dont know beans about small block ford engines, built a few FE motors back in the day, so trying to make a steep learning curve on whats good and whats not, Great to find a site like this to help out. Live in the heart of nascar country close to Charllotte NC. Looking foreward to what others here can teach me

Hello, my name is Eric and I am currently building a 1954 Ford Customline with ALL ford parts. I am using a stock 1969 iron headed 351W block with a hopped up cam and a 650 CFM Edelbrock for go power. A 1970 Pan fill C4 automatic and a 1968 Mustang 8 inch for the rear with sloooooooww 2.75 gears.

My plans are currently to get it into one solid color. I am doing the fill work now and have never done it before, as this whole project is a learning experience. I hope to have it titled and registered by the end of June.

For the future I want to either wake up the 351W or build another one and just swap it out. The rear end will be changed with some better gears, probably no higher than 3.25 as I plan to use this on the freeway still. It will be chopped and dropped, but before the resto guys get on me, take a look at my photo site : http://www.fotki.com/desertdroog. In there you will see what I started out with and hopefully will understand that this car will be a better sled than sitting in a junkyard. The best part about this project was sourcing all Ford parts from junkyard cars, from the 60's Mustang driveshaft to the rear drums I got off of a 90s Vicky. It truly is a FrankenFord.

I will have newbie questions as I have never had a 351W before, just a 289W in my 1964 Galaxie 500 which I sold to get this project going.

Glad to be here.
