I HAVE A 1969 220 HP , 302 2V OUT OF A MONTEGO AND HAVE A HARMONIC BALANCER QUESTION. IS IT 28 OZ OR 50 OZ. I WANT TO BUY A NEW 3 BOLT PERFORMANCE BALANCER AND DONT KNOW WHAT TO BUY.

Yes, 28...  and make sure the timing pointer degree markings are in the right place.  There were 3 different orientations.  lol  But, being an old 3-bolt, there might be only one.  Just something to be aware of, and look into.

You're talking the main, big bolt that takes a 15/16" socket, right?  If so, they are all the same.  3 bolt and 4 bolt.  I believe it's a 5/8" fine thread.  Not sure of a 'factory' style bolt, but ARP does indeed offer one.  Not super cheap, though.  Is something wrong with your original one?

He's asking about the balancer itself.


For a basic piece, I'd probably go with a Professional Products. The non sfi can be had for under $100. For a little more, Powerbond makes some good ones too.

We have a zero balance Powerbond on the 91 coupe. Very impressed with the quality for the $.
