Ots cam

95 gt 5 speed
Full weight w/ac
Drive 5 days a week to work
Will run a couple times a year at the track for fun
Building a fun daily driver to play on the streets

Parts i have

Stock 5.0 short block
Tfs 170's 58cc dual tfs track heat springs
Scorpion endurance 1.6rr 7/16 stud
Weiand xcelerator intake old casting
Holley sniper tbi self tuning efi
1-5/8 short headers 2.5 H-pipe 2.5 catback

Would like a choppy idle on this car, tired of boring stock rumble like ive had in past cars, nothing all out but good chop for the street with prominent performance cam sound and well mannered enough for the street.

One I intend to use in a build is based on comp lobes
3014 268 218 143 .356 .570
13137 278 226 148 .353 .565

How long are the runners on that intake?

I always liked the Crower 15512 on EFI cars.

Street car, depends on runner length, intended usage, and compression where you want the ICL.

To be honest, this has custom cam written all over it.

Its a heavy car with ac, and its a daily driver. It has a non-traditional type of fuel injection, with a very short runner intake. You want a choppy idle as well as good street manners. And all of this is with a 302.

Just saying. The extra $75 would go a long ways towards reaching your goals.

You might need some Titanium rods and a flow bench!  LMAO on floor

I honestly don't get it.

I'm sweating, my heart is racing, my clutch foot is twichin', and my right arm punched the computer screen doing an involentary 2-3 shift while reading all that.

Is the xcelerator like the vic jr? I'd bet you would be more satisfied with the holley SMII. Longer runners are going to give ya more torque, and for a street car it'll help get that heavier car going. Factory processor is OK, with a chip. Buy a $65 chip and I can burn a tune on it for ya for nothing.

Thanks for the offer on the chip tune. I just sold all my efi stuff rpm2 intake cam injectors cai fpr Maf etc and had enough to buy the sniper, its supposed to be here Tuesday.

The x-celerator is a very small single plane, alot smaller runners than a jr.  I forget the "range" something like 1500-6200.  I ran one years back with tfs170's, 650 demon, custom flat tappet from jay in a 65 f100 with 2.73 gears and it flat got it for what it was in that truck, shifted around 6300.
I figured the sniper would give me the "tuneability" in my hands to make it run nice, i figure it should respond better than a carb and also give good mileage of efi.
I just dont know much about selecting a cam for a combo, my thinking is to forget that the sniper is efi and think carburetor when selecting a cam as fuel is delivered the same way, just more precise.
