1.82 Roller Rockers

I see that scorpion offers a 1.82 rocker arm.
Ive got a 95 mustang gt that is bone stock, and it is my daily driver t5 trans, 3.08 gears ac cruise and all and its staying that way. My plan for this car is a fun daily driver, i use it 5 days a week commuting to work, weekends or picking kids up from school i drive my truck or wifes car.
I just bought a set of 58cc tfs170 heads, i have an rpm 2 intake, 70mm throttle body, 1-5/8 shorty headers, off road hpipe 2.5", 2.5" cat back. And i plan to keep the stock HO cam.
I ran a simular setup in a fox body sometime ago and it was quite fun to drive on the street but used 1.72 scorpion rockers.
1.72 are commonly used on sbf
Im curious what are any negative or positive side effects of using 1.82 on a street car? Why arent they more popular on a sbf?

Ratio wise, I see no reason why it wouldn't work as intended.
Mechanically though you want to make sure that you have adequate PTV, do not put the spring into coil bind, and that the spring/retainers are adequate to control the extended valve motion. All these items must be verified and addressed.

Also, if not made for your application, need to verify the length from the fulcrum to the valve stem is correct. Other wise the end might hang over the valve or not reach it.

You need to remember that as rocker ratio goes up, the pushrod cup moves closer to the rocker stud.
There would be a chance of clearance issues between the pushrod and cylinder head. The shallower pushrod cup location could also potentially cause problems getting the guide plates correctly aligned.
You may not have these problems but be aware of the possibility.

You might need some Titanium rods and a flow bench!

Alright thanks for the replies, they are scorpion 5.0 ford spec. They're listed on summit i was on there looking at different arms and came across them.
I need to find a real pic of them, i bet the pr cups are into the fulcrum a bit. They might not be worth messing with but figured id ask on here for thoughts

1.82 ford rocker question
Message:
we have a little discussion going on about your rockers. can you supply a photo of the bottom of the 1.82 rocker. we all like your product, i have your 1.6's myself. the discussion led here: "You need to remember that as rocker ratio goes up, the pushrod cup moves closer to the rocker stud." so we are curious to see where exactly the pushrod cup is on these.

thank you, Robert, Chicago

I do not have a picture of those rockers but the push rod seat would be about .060’’ closer to the center of the fulcrum.
i would take that as .060 closer than the 1.6's?

Yeah, that's not quite right.
Memory wants to say fulcrum to valve was around 1.4 inches from when I played with some a few years back.
That would be around .1 to go to 1.82 from 1.6. It'd be .090 if it was only 1.2"
.060 is about right going from a 1.7 to 1.82
