I ran across the Car Craft issue where they did a build from a '86 short block. It stated that they cut the intake reliefs about 0.150" and the exhaust about 0.200", and that it provided safe clearance for a NX-282 cam with AFR 165s. No information on deck height, etc..

Being a comic book, take it for what it is.
Thanks, thought about cutting it more for down the road if I put a real cam in it, but that's part of the reason I went with this one was the low lift,  and I had it.

Put this turd on the dyno today, with vic jr. and an elbow, 90MM throttle body, ported Gt40's and stone cold engine temps, it made 350/300 HP/TQ, took the elbow off and run the 4-hole throttle body it made 328/286, but had a much better mid-range, even though the engine had some heat in it so that probably cost some power compared to the first run.
The stock speed density doesn't like the Bcam though, even with a tune it's cantankerous, with the old 306 and the Jay cam it ran much smoother. I'm thinking I'll pull this intake and run the ported truck lower I have, along with holley SMII upper, so I can run mass air. I'll save the Vic jr and 4-hole for something else.
