I have a B&M Hammer Shifter P#81002 the one that fits in the stock center counsel that I am installing on my A.O.D. I cannot get the center counsel to clear the shaft that the shifter handle connects to. I already removed the shifter handle. I don't think I can remove anymore parts off the shifter and I know the glove box is closed in the pic but the results are the same.
Any one ran into this problem? any tips?

Can't mount the shifter through the hole after the console is in?

It might have to come to that. I'm going to try taking the mounting bolts out and see if it will move back an inch or so.
