i have TW170's and a systemax. the ports on the holley intake are longer.

-can i lower the port floor on the heads 1/8" gradually for an inch and a half to remove this overlap(all 8 runners look like this)?

-is this a fairly accurate way to calculate port alignment, or is this no good without stuff bolted on the block?

other thought is using epoxy on the intake, but i'm skeptical of it holding up over time. specifically because this is a daily driver, year round, whether it's 90 or -10 outside.

Do you have a gasket in there?. The roof of the port match?. Try a thicker gasket if needed also.

Looks like there is a gasket in...
You're not really porting, so what you want to accomplish won't have a negative result.
IMO...  Go for it.

Ugly?  Easy now -- that's my baby and it's got lots of unique character!  When I drop that built 445" stroker in it you won't have any time to "pull over to let me pass" because I'll have already blown past you when you figure out what the hell was that loud noise behind you . . .

There is a gasket in there and yes the top port lof the port lines up. I'd eyeball the gasket as .050 so if anything it would be even lower when tightened
