Just wondering but is the cam you're running the old "Systemax" kit cam?

I totally feel for the guys that dont have the chance to run in good DA and when someone posts up a ET that seems slower than norm. i like to know what the DA was or where they are running at.............we all know it makes a big difference in ET and its not an excuse when a guy runs up high and throws DA out there along with his ET...............people that half way know what they're doing take that into account, the others just say "man thats slow"...........its crazy how every year the NHRA pro-stock guys gear the piss outta their stuff for bandimere............

Yes it's an old systemax cam...bought back in 2001/02 for $75 offa da ebay................

And yes i try to make plenty of runs testing shift points, launch rpm etc etc rather than looking for the "hero run" until we've got the combo kinda settled in but the biggest thing is having fun, hangin out and tryin to get it home under its own power lol.........

The pro stock guys leave the rear gear alone which is mandated by nhra. What's not is the transmission gears. They change all but 5th I believe. They also run about 6.90 at 200 at Bandimere. In better air they run 6.5 at 212 or there about. The Dodge Hellcat that ran 10.9 in Texas by Richards rawlings only ran 12.4 At Bandimere at the mile high nationals.

I agree That Rodney tunes and drives the hell out of his cars. Setup and combinations is everything. Look at Darin hendericks C.S. car.https://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=AwrSbgk_M3tWKWsAKxpXNyoA;_ylc=X1MDMjc2NjY3OQRfcgMyBGZyA3lmcC10LTMzOS1zBGdwcmlkA1Z1WWN2TnZ0Um1DT0xoOEVtLjY4Y0EEbl9yc2x0AzAEbl9zdWdnAzQEb3JpZ2luA3NlYXJjaC55YWhvby5jb20EcG9zAzAEcHFzdHIDBHBxc3RybAMEcXN0cmwDMjgEcXVlcnkDZGFyaW4gaGVuZHJpY2tzIGNveW90ZSBzdG9jawR0X3N0bXADMTQ1MDkxNDcwMQ--?p=darin+hendricks+coyote+stock&fr2=sb-top-search&fr=yfp-t-339-s&fp=1

I thought it was.

How good of DA do you guys usually get out there? Best I've run in has been about 700ft and we're 630ft or so above sea level. Heck when the DA here is up around 2000ft above sea level the car goes almost .2 seconds slower.

I meant trans gears but i also wasnt aware pro stock had a mandated rear gear, i lnow the fuel cars do and have had it for years...........yeah that was my point how much they slow down.....run high 6.4's@213+ in "good" air and Erica has the record at 215mph.............

Those FS and Coyote guys are badasses..................

Our track is listed at 82ft. above SL...........I'd hazard a guess that alot of southeastern tracks are like this, we just have to fight the "soup"/humidity....air gets thick and heavy around here Undecided

But i'm not complaining, i'm just glad to have a track to go to

The other day was -319 down to -1280+..............honestly my stuff doesnt run any better if its sea-level or -1200, the water grains/moisture are usually thru the the roof.............we dont get a ton of "dry" cool air but when we do.......then its on! lol

The mandated gear is for 2016, it's because of the 10,500 rev limit.

That ain't no joke.

My car is a solid 2.5-3 tenths faster on a dry winter day than it is in the spring or fall. I don't race in the summer but I'd expect to loose another 3 tenths or so.

just out of shits and giggles I would love for someone from the good air parts of the world to come to some elevation and run. When someone like Rodney makes a pass like he does with the shit he runs, us with altitude wonder how far off we are. We see what happens when we head south with limited tuning time and gain 6 to 7 tenths. His car being mostly stock he would lose 1.2 seconds at Bandimere, this being true I'm right there with my tune.

I have a supercharged car and the rule of thumb here is 2# of boost to cover the power robbing charger and 2# to cover the baro  loss. thoughts

Shoot!  I've run at elevation at long gone LACR.  Yeah, it totally stinks for comparisons to other sea level tracks.  But I can tell you elevation ain't nothin'!  Having two young kids has hurt my drag racing way more than elevation!

Turbo diesel truck to tow with.  Check!
Car trailer. Check!
Car to have fun and race with. Check!
Sea level track. Check!
Buddies to go with.  Check!
Time, energy, and ME time to make it happen?  FAIL!  LOL

Seconds and tenths???  How about years between being able to get to the track with a good conscious?

Somehow i missed or forgot there was a mandated gear along with the other garbage rules (10500 redline for example) for 2016............just make it more of a spec/cookie cutter class than it already is.............

Just go Nate! Whats up with the trailer part lol?

Someone slipped some mello yello in my bong.....make me go nnuutttzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
