This car was my youngest sons. He went off to college in Ohio, and didn't want to subject this car to Ohio winters so I got it, and gave him an explorer sport trac. I'm planning to run it for a bit to make sure all is good with it and then sell it.

GLWTS, it sounds like a fun car.

The engine sounds a lot like my plans for one I want to build soon. Let me know how that thing is versus a stock level of compression and smaller heads, TB etc.

Does that need 30lbs injectors, wouldn't 24's do fine for under 6000rpm? I'm aiming for the 10:1 range, with a ported GT40 intake, and a similar head if I can find them. I'm hoping that's worth an extra 50rwhp over stock.

Like Nate said it's a tongue in cheek thing. The low RPM torque crowd over there get all sideways if anyone recommends anything out of their perceived norm for a 306. This engine has all their requisites of what is enough for a 306, TMoss intake, Ed cam, AFR 165's 1 5/8 longtubes. The 75MM TB and 3" exhaust are a little out of place, but they're what I had.
BTW, none of this should be construed as flicking boogers at Ed or TMoss, they both do great work, if I thought it was anything less I'd have sold those parts and got something else.

Ugly?  Easy now -- that's my baby and it's got lots of unique character!  When I drop that built 445" stroker in it you won't have any time to "pull over to let me pass" because I'll have already blown past you when you figure out what the hell was that loud noise behind you . . .

That's a great combination of mild and slightly over, parts. It will run great, but I think the big compression bump will add more power than the rest; it's a nice compliment.

The bump in compression helped, the 1.72 rockers helped, I think, having the right spring installed height helped, reciprocating assy. balanced helped, 75MM TB and 95MM Mass air probably helped and the tune helped some too, I think. It made 333@ 5400 368 @ about 4200 on a dynocom dyno. I forgot to get the electronic versions, I just have the printout. Tried spark from 34 to 35 at WOT no change, and leaned fuel to 12.3 and it didn't pick up anything so pretty much had it dialed in from the start.
I'll post the dyno sheet once my son scans and emails it to me.
