I know a thou and a half (.0015) is not in spec for cam shaft end play but its what I ended up getting using the TF timing set with the stock retainer in my 92 roller 302 block. It sure feels good when I spin the cam by hand with only .0015 of play . Has anybody left there endplay this snug and had bad things happen?

It's not uncommon to have to modify the retainer plate to get the end play within spec. I simply wet sanded mine on a flat surface in a figure 8 pattern.

You might need some Titanium rods and a flow bench!  LMAO on floor

I honestly don't get it.

I'm sweating, my heart is racing, my clutch foot is twichin', and my right arm punched the computer screen doing an involentary 2-3 shift while reading all that.

So with my heavy hand I pulled out the flat plate and sanded..... I went from .0015 to now a .007
Is this to far off spec or can we let it rip ??
