Hi Guys and Gals,

I am a few months away from an engine swap in my '86 Crown Vic.  I have been working out the potential issues for this project.  The engine is a 5.8L with aftermarket EFI; in front of a built AOD.  I have set up the throttle body, linkage, and bracket to work with my stock cables.  The problem is that the '86 has a one-time production tv cable with the sliding link; as opposed to the push/press-in link found on the Crown Vics and Mustangs a year later.  The TV cables at the JY look crusty and I  can no longer purchase a stock TV cable as they have been out of production.  So I am considering an aftermarket cable from Lokar; specifically Lokar part# KD2AODHT.  There seems to be no application for this cable, but it also doesn't state that it's universal on Summit's, JEGS, and CJ Pony's websites.  Has anyone used the EFI tv cables from Lokar for a non-Mustang application?  When the time comes I might take the throttle lever off of the '86 throttle body when I do the swap; and use that until I figure out a solution.

A friend told me I shoulda modified an AOD fox body.  I think I should have listened to him.

Sliding link AOD cables were typical of F-trucks and E-vans that you may want to check if they fit your CV setup....

I will do that.  If they're still available for those applications, it may be an option.  Too bad my local yards crush everything 10 years and older.  Otherwise I would yank a tv cable from an '87-'91 CV/MGM and measure it.  I could do that with the existing cable as well.  I have a feeling that I will end up using the stock '86 cable for a while until I find another solution.  Next time I get the throttle body off of the CV, I will get a picture of the stock setup.  The things we do for love. Roll Eyes  *sigh*
