Here's the combo.

Flat tops w/valve reliefs
Trick flow track heat 170cc/58cc chamber heads
Comp cam XE-264hr-14 pn:35-349-8
Scorpion 1.72 roller rockers
Hedman long tube headers
2.5" duals w/magnaflow cats, x-pipe, spintech race mufflers
Rebuilt upgraded AOD, factory stall
3.55 rear gears..

how heavy is it? what work has been done to the AOD?

I would suggest doing the gears first, as going from a 3.55 to a 4.10 will affect converter stall. IIRC it will tighten the converter.

That's right around what I've been thinking is the 2k-2200 range. Just want some people that have much experience choosing converters.

All the opinions will be used when I call a converter company.. Probably precision industries..

Like high 4k lbs close tk 5k prolly idk.. Never weighed it..
Upgraded clutch packs, OD band, line pressure adjusted to be slightly higher.. Other than that stock valve body..

My experience is that lower gearing allows for a lower converter stall.

At 4500lbs with that 302 and 4.10s I would shoot for low 2000rpm.

I guess the point was what stall will work ok with the 3.55 gears and when I swap to the 4.10's will be like right in the money..

Or is there a convertor choice that may make me change my mind on the gear change?

I would think around 2600

maybe worth noting my buddy has a 94 impala ss with a healthy 383 it weighs 4200lbs and it drives like a beast with a 3600stall. I think that would be too loose for your application though really  Hmmmmm

If you go non lock up you will need a 1 piece input shaft. For a DD I probably would not do a non lock.
