Might want to add what your "mild build" consists of. 

Custom cams, for most purposes, are always worth the extra coin especially if you were buying a new camshaft anyway.  The benefits are endless becuase you end up with EXACTLY what you wanted, not just something close.

In my case what I need is not OTS that I have ever seen for a SBF.  I needed to run well in the 11's & still be able to pass an emission test.   In the process I picked up 2 mph over my OTS.

306 10-10.5 cr gt40p heads long tubes ported cobra lower and downs upper.  its just a cheap build to get the car going as its set too long

There is alot more to a custom than "how much will it gain"
Your car will drive better
The valve train will not be a botched up mess and last longer
The customer support
Get it right the first time

When purchasing a custom cam from Jay, just put your sbftech.com username in the comments section of any of his build sheets (check links below), he will then run a quick search here at the forum to verify membership, once he establishes you as being a member he will ship your cam for FREE. Camshaft Innovations Build Sheets:

  • The EZ Short Form:
    This form is designed specifically for those customers who do not have a lot of information. This form will ask only the most basic questions possible. If your cylinder heads and/or intake manifold have been ported, then this form is not for you. Typically this BUILD SHEET will get you a street type camshaft whether you would like a hydraulic flat tappet, a solid flat tappet, or a hydraulic roller. This form is basic enough that all lines must be completed. If you desire a solid roller, do not use this BUILD SHEET.

  • The Standard Build Sheet:
    This is the form that other cam companies have copied and modified as their own. This form has more required fields than EZ Short Form and is specifically designed for those racers who have ported heads or desire a solid roller camshaft. The most important fields are highlighted in RED. All fields in RED are required and must be completed.

  • The Pro Version:
    This is the Grand Daddy of all BUILD SHEETS. This form should be used if you are a class racer looking for every horsepower possible. Whether you are a circle track racer, drag racer, marine/off shore boat, truck pull, or a road racer, if you want it all, then this form is for you. Be advised that this form is extremely in depth and all lines must be completed.
