i have a weiand 174 on a 91 302 with a edelbrock 750 in my 89 mustang, it runs good but detonates when i hit it hard. new setup to me. any suggestions where to start with the timing/tuning

Check the timing
fuel pressure
fuel type
and the running temp of the engine.

Do you have an A/F meter inside your ride?

Also, what plugs are you using? And how do they look?

Doing more with less, or something like that.

Running same 174
have mine set up real rich 11.1 a/f  wot
and timing set at 30 degrees at 3000
dont have a boost retard but running rich and low timing seems to work for me also run at least 92 or 94 fuel
