But i have to ask.

When you take your oil filler cap off, normally small smoke puffs come out as the engine is idling right?

My valve covers are cheap chrome ones reccommended by holley so they fit under the Intake.  They dont have any baffle above the rocker to stop oil from spweing in there...  WELL, they didnt have a nipple on the fill tube to plug into the TB.  So, I had to buy a trick flow one which is really nice, but the thing is I see a lot of oil inside that tube.  I also have some blue smoke on WOT and im NOT sure if its my block getting tired (116k) or if the TB is sucking in a lot of oil as the nipple is cloer to the bottom of the tube rather than the top.

So today I figured Id plug the TB nipple and just put one of those baby cone filters on the filler tube nipple, but when i rev it up theres a small puff of smoke coming from there, so im betting thats what is being vented into the TB.

Just wondering if thats normal and if I should just run it the stock configuration which I put it back to or use this little cone filter.

I just want to figure out basically why i have some blue smoke coming out.  The only time I saw it was on the Dyno, when it was REALLY revving at like 4K...

TB hose don't suck air. The intake pulls the crankcase pressure through the PCV valve. The hose on the TB, is the fresh air part of the PCV system. So the air in the TB hose should be flowing into the crankcase, not into the TB.

Check the PCV valve and screen.

yes or that you have a lot of blow by the rings   .          possible a vacuum leak and that is why the pvc is not working well.

I was just thinking the rings are fucked.

Gonna get a leak down test done to see how bad they are.

I wanna run a KB supercharger and if the rings are blown, Ill be getting a new shortblock from Woody first.

Are PCV Valves expensive?  Where is it located.

But there is oil in the oil filler tube so im assuming it is sucking in oil...?

its not sucking oil. its not a vacuum line. Oil is getting pushed into it by pressure in the crankcase.

PCV is located in the lower intake in the rear. it pretty much lines up with where the upper and lower meet.

as long as that shop you payed to install all of your stuff didnt do a total hack job,  they should have replaced your pcv valve in your new intake instead of pulling your old and dirty stuff out and re using it. they did charge you an arm and a leg, so im sure the unknown price of a pcv valve was thrown into there somewhere.
