i've run 3.73 gears with a 125 nx shot on a stock '89 gt for a long time.it would pull mid to high 13's then i put a 2400 stall, and 4.10 gears with 150 shot wet kit,and pulled mid 12's all this was still on the stock motor, and with nitrous you maintain streetability.

'89 coupe (rescued ssp car)
'90 lx hatch(4banger turd)
'79 cobra(all original with 302)

I had 4.10's in my 86, and loved it. My car had long tubes, pro-chamber, flowmaster mufflers, pullys, the timing bumped up,and everything else was bone stock. Oh, i had a TCI Streetfighter convertor in it. The best 1/8 mile i ran was 8.89 @ 77mph. 60ft was somewhere in the 1.9-2.0 range. I thought the convertor was still too tight. Now mind you, this was an 86. They were the turd's, 200hp. A 225 car should be a little quicker. I think for and AOD, 4.10's or lower would be best.

Stock shortblock 302, World Products J/R Heads, TFS Stage 1 cam, TMoss ported Holley Systemaxx, 75mm Accufab TB, PMAS 95mm Velocity Meter, 24lb Injectors, C4 w/ PTC 3400 stall, 4.10 gear...7.694 @ 88.49 mph and 12.157 @ 109.32mph. New Times Coming Soon!!

This is what I use for a good low 13 sec to high 12 sec aod car

- 4.10 gears
- 3500-4000 stall
- 26x8.5 slicks or drag radial
- Lentech valve body
- under drives
- 160 deg thermostat(180deg  is good also)
- 65-70 mm throttle body is best for the stock intake
- 75-80mm mass air
- adjustable fuel pressure regulator
- Hooker 15/8 full length headers
- 2.5 -3.0 exhaust
- 14-16 deg base timing......must use 93-94 octane fuel
- electric fan
- 70/30 front struts
- TeamZ street series rear control arms
- remove front sway bar
