Hello everyone I'am gettin the final peices together for my 347. My question is will my stock 302 starter have enough to crank this engine over? My c/r is 10:1. Thanks in advance.

do u have the new tipe of starter the small one or the big one u can get the small one from a yunk yard from a newer ford i think 92and up 5.0s that will move ur stroker

I just want to point out compression ratio doesn't matter here.
Cranking psi, initial timing, and good grounds do.

If you already have the starter and clearance isn't an issue, I suggest you try it first.

My starter came from my 77 302 w/ auto, its the big one , I'll give it shot

get the smallone is got more torque it take less power from the battery to crank the engine

Ditto, try to make the common 5.0 HO starter work. It would be the most feasible to use, plus aftermarket choices are many.
