Just asking because I have heard all sorts of ideas of what to run for fluid in these things.

15w40 Diesel Oil
75w90 Synthetic or Conventional (which I understand to be equivelant to approx 40 weight)
Straight 50 weight

I am looking for the best and quickest possible shifting for my truck that I drive on the street. These transmissions dont like to go from 3rd to 2nd so I am looking for the most help I can get.

I have heard the 50w shifts the best, but that seems weird to me because 1. its thicker and 2. engine oil except maybe the diesel does not have the high friction protection a gear oil has. 3. Seems like it would shift better with thinner oil

Any thoughts?
