The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/vyxNLrCMk3I&amp;color1=0xe1600f&amp;color2=0xfebd01&amp;hl=en" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/vyxNLrCMk3I&amp;color1=0xe1600f&amp;color2=0xfebd01&amp;hl=en</a>

  • The video shown above is for demonstration purposes.
  • Keep in mind that the above video concentrates on OBD-II types of EEC systems, PID or datastream information is not possible with Mustang's OBD-I systems. With the exception of the SN95 system.
  • The EEC-IV TPS setup in Mustangs and most V8 cars IS NOT adjustable.
  • As you can see, the logic in the system that always "looks" for the minimum voltage value to establish "closed throttle"  or "RATCH" position, is carried over to OBD-II standards.
