Title: Oddball C4
Post by: rodbolt on February 09, 2016, 11:53:37 pm
My dad had a slew of C4's stashed in a storage building that fell down.  Well those and some C5's, and a few Powerglides.  Anyway, a few of the C4's have weird extension housings.  They are shorter than a "normal" C4, and have bolt-on yokes instead of a slip yoke.  What are they out of and are they worth anything?  Just asking before I decide to scrap or keep them.

Those usually came in trucks.  If the dipstick tube goes into the pan, they are desireable.

I think the ones he has are all pan fill.  Been sitting out there for years so who knows what condition they're in.  I may pick them up and see what I can do with 'em.

I've seen C-6's like that but never a C-4 but it sounds like those are transmissions from 4x4 trucks that used a divorced transfer case guy's that are building older or custom 4x4's may be interested in those.
