I wouldn't have expected it to run that good that quickly.  Great job!

What rpm were you shifting it at?

    Those are some GREAT times!!!!

How are you making those headers fit between your shock towers?

The Merc is jealous of you ...      :rock

Great Job DeeAnn! :ban :rock So glad to hear it's working well and it's doing what you want. Are you still thinking of swapping the cam this winter?

We were shocked when the very first pass was a 10.97 @ 121mph.  The only adjustment we made all weekend was changing to a 7000rpm limiter chip.  Kept hitting the 6800 chip on some of the shifts and before the traps.  Recorded a pass on the playback tach and it showed that I was shifting around 6700 on both shifts, and crossing at around 6800.  I have the shift light set at 6300, but I guess I shift when I'm damn good and ready...lol  ;D   Later in the weekend (in better air), the car ran a 10.84 and a 10.88 at 123-124mph.

Since my goal was to get into the 10's....and we're there already....we're gonna run it 'as is' for a while and just have fun.  My general philosophy is 'if it ain't broke don't fix it'  :) .

It was snug, to say the least.  The driver's side header has been "massaged".... :whistling:

Couldn't agree more, hopefully I can get up there to watch it run sometime. I may be bringing up the two youngest ones for Christmas to my parent's house, but there isn't anything going on at the track that time of year up there... :orglaugh

Yes, Duane said there is definitely more power available with a cam swap, and he did make a recommendation.  When we decide to make the swap, we know which one we're going to get  :naughty:  .

DB did the heads, I don't think AFR's would make much difference.

lol according to TFS the high port is close enough to a high port to get sued over and lose  :dunno

I said TFS, not AFR. I'm not fan of Canfield, seen too many of them crack over the years.

Those TFS that you are talking about might have less shock-tower clearance than her Canfields, I'm not sure?

I sold the wagon, and then I got to driving this LTD and liked it too much as a daily driver. I decided the 418 would be impractical as a daily driver and would be more fun with a little motor. About that time DeeAnn said something about being in the market for a stroker windsor and we worked out a deal. I delivered the motor to her place last December, in the back of a rental mini-van :orglaugh after putting on her timing cover and oil pan. Our visit was very brief, but she is a very nice lady, and quite the looker as well. Glad to hear everything worked out well for her and this motor is doing what she wants.

Do any of you guys think the 60ft is good where it's at? I suggested to her the other night that she try punching from an idle on the last yellow vs. trying to load the converter. I think that might let it flash more RPM then trying to load it as the front tires won't hold it now when trying to load it.

Yeah you did. Don't know where that came from, me and my attention span :bang :orglaugh

I've heard many of the early 192's were prone to cracking.  Can't say I've heard of any problems from the later 195.  :dunno

The trip wasn't just for that. My son was being let out of college in Columbus Ohio, and my parent's live about 120 miles from DeeAnn, so I made a weekend out of it. Parents were stoked I got to be there for my birthday for the first time in probably 30 years and they got to see their grandson.
