What wideband should I use to tune a carbd car??  Would I even need the whole wideband setup or could I just use the guage because I am obviously not tuning with the computer.

The guage is just a meter.  You need special electronics to run the WB O2.  There are two systems out there for a decent price.  One is made by NGK (Powerdex AFX) and the other by Innovative Technology (LC1).

The NGK comes with a digital display for the dash and is cheaper than the LC1 with display.  I bought the LC1 as it's cheaper if you don't need a display and has the ability to drive a NB guage as well as feed a computer.

you might want to look into the lm1 w/rpm so that you can track all your major things. I have it, love it.

PM me if you want a good price on any Innovative stuff!

thats a gauge only! you are supposed to tap it into your factory o2s.... not good for tuning!

Nope that's a whol set up .  The WB controller is built into the guage.

Quote
Notes:
Includes 8 ft. tubing or wiring harness.
LED digital display.
0-4v data output feed for ECU, data acquisition unit, or Laptop tuning
Auto-Dimming gauge brightness feature
Includes high-quality Bosch wideband O2 sensor
Display data in Lambda or numerical A/F ratio
User programmable range
Peak recall/memory
10:1 to 20:1 AFR Range for Gasoline Applications
Adjustable for Alternate Fuel Types (Ethanol, Methanol, Propane, CNG)
6:1 to 18:1 AFR Range for Alternate Fuel Types
User Programmable Warning Function

No experiance with that or any others.... yet.  It seems like it has all the features and the price is within reason but why buy off ebay?  You can spend just as much from a retailer and then have someone to go to if there is an issue.

Do I really need datalogging???  I am tuning with a carb, all I need is to see what my air/fuel is so I can change the jets.

kinda hard to watch your af gauge at 4000,4500, 4800,5000, etc etc etc RPMs. easier to just let it play on your home computer!
