Hey everyone im in the market for a carb for my 408 stroker build, which will be putting down between 475 and 500 at the wheels. It was reccommended to me to get this carb: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=EDL%2D1411&view=1&N=700+4294925239+400065+4294839063+4294919007+4294891681+4294785104+4294902670+4294902720, and i found one for sale slightly used, but very cheap, and was wondering if it was enough to support that engine and that power. Thanks.

Also, if anyone has any alternative suggestions, please let me know. I was originally looking at a 750 BG demon carb, but i found this one for cheap. What do you all think? Thanks.

More info needed as well.  What RPM range?  Who did the cam?  What heads? etc. . .

Its funny how many of these high powered 3" stroke motors are talked about, but very rarely happen to make it to the strip and back up all the hype.

Alright here is my set up:

1994 351w Block
SCAT 408 stroker kit
AFR 205's
Vic Jr. Intake
And im currently filling out a build sheet for a Jay Allen Cam

As stated earlier, Im looking to make about 475 at the wheels, maybe a little more if we can squeeze it out of it on pump gas. Im am undecided on the RPM range and would like to get all of the advice I can on that as well. My max RPM would probably be around 6200-6500 maybe, depending on what others have ran on similar set ups. Thanks for the advice so far.

OH and PS im definately not puting MPG high on my priority list, but it might be taken into consideration down the road.

I would run a 800 holley rejet and tune as needed.

Jay has a carb guy he works with (good idea to have the cam and carb match) and he could advise when you buy your cam.
