Since this is something that is nowadays common to be discussed (FINALLY!.... Phew)...... here are documented/depicted cases (with chevy/holden cases though) that I found and wanted to share. Look at the different cam base circle and lift specifications + the different cases shown with different style/brands of SR lifters.






The one shown below, is a solid flat tappet lifter.

Oil band stuff applies to all types of lifters, it's something we overlook expecting (by error) for upgraded setups to Quote-Unquote fall within OEM dimensions.
