I Picked up another mustang last july and have done a complete drivetrain swap and engine bay makeover, while hiding all of the factory wiring.

The car is a 1993 factory 5.0L automatic car thats now a 306 and a tremec tko 600. Im now about to fire it up but the factory fuel pump wiring isent getting any power. The car turns over fine and everything on the inside and outside of the car work perfectly...except for spark, and fuel pump power.

I grounded the self test connector at the firewall, and it didnt turn the pump on, nor did i hear the relay click.  I tested for voltage at the relay and from the top of the clip down im getting 12volts the next two terminals im gets 5volts and 3.25volts and the bottom terminal nothing. I then jumped the top terminal to the bottom and the fuel pump turned on...Would this be a bad relay? or something else

The car also doesnt have any spark. Im running an msd digital 6 box with a blaster hvc coil. Im only getting 0.12 volts on either side of the coil with the key on. I double checked the wiring at the box and its getting 12volts and is grounded properly.

the car is also getting 4.93 volts at the red wire of the injector clip with the key on..so the eec relay should be alright.

Thanks Greg

Nope..... the EEC relay or EEC relay power source could be fubar. With the key in IGN ON, you should have one of the small terminals of the FP relay showing 12 vdc. The red wires at the injector connectors should also show 12 vdc with key in IGN ON not 5 vdc.

thanks for the reply joel...One of the terminals in the fuel pump relay has 12 volts, and the other two have 4.5volts, while the 4th terminal has zero volts..

Ill replace the eec relay and let you know.

FYI.......

I don't think is an issue with the relay...... check the terminals first to verify 12vdc "always hot" supply and "IGN ON" 12 vdc. LUK

I read through the do not start thread, and checked for power with a test light at pins 1, 37, and 57. Pin #1 had power but 37 and 57 did not..This is with the key on.

I then checked for power at the eec relay with the key on...There was power at the terminal with the two yellow wires going to it, but no where else.

this has me stumped...why wouldnt pins 37 and 57 have no power?

Sounds like its a fuse link problem, or a problen with the ignition switch.

Check all your fuse links first.
