can you leave you EVP sensor connected but tape down the plunger deal so it acts like its working? then you could remove the egr valve and block it off... i read about this somewhere but dont know how much truth is behind it or if it even works. anyone?

just take it off and plug the holes in the spacer - or get rid of the spacer and use a plate for your cable..

Its funny how many of these high powered 3" stroke motors are talked about, but very rarely happen to make it to the strip and back up all the hype.

It wouldn't work, the computer would read the valve as stuck open and not moving.

A better idea would be to leave it intact and get some kind of tuning device that would let you tell the computer to ignore EGR altogether. That way the EGR valve still works if you ever need to get through a smog test.

it works..just you get code 34..

best way is go to radio shack and get an assortment bag of resistors  use two 150 ohms and one 75 ohm run a triangle twist and plug it into the plug...

actually there should be a write up on this, cause i'm pretty i'm butchering it..been over 4yrs ago since i did all the resistor stuff..

my car ran better than when it was stock..

He is in Iowa.  He has no smog test.

The code it throws effects nothing on how the car drives/runs.

Pull it off!

That is how I did it on my car  Whistling

They make a fancy plug now for the harness so you can throw every thing away

If the ECM detects any EGR related failure code..... it automatically deletes/bypasses the EGR function altogether. No need to pay for something the ECM does on its own w/out any programming changes. The resistors plug is made to only prevent the CEL from turning on when the EVP sensor signal is detected as disconnected or too high. It will only cause a code 33 failure to be logged (EGR not opening) but it will not cause the CEL to turn on...... the EGR function will still be deleted though.
