I'm wondering the underlying agenda to that post in Popular Hotrodding Javier.
Leads me to believe an Oil ad or "plug".
To use a similar statement, but my own;
With today's technology in light bulbs, using these new, improved bulbs in your television today reduces the advantage a "solid state" televisions has today vs a light bulb used 40 years ago.

All of Comp rockers are now made to their spec (which is a TON tighter) by a source in Florida. This change occurred about 2 years ago.
I am not getting into "why".

Tracy
the proped spec from the API used for the older cars 80s/90s is SG but this is difficult to find on the shelf.
Motorcraft oil is most likely produced by Conoco and simply cause the difficulty in getting any concrete info from Ford or the original nanufacture of lubricant mase for Ford I would stay away from that product.
Unless you are having your vehicle still under warranty serviced by the dealer
What vehicle and engine are you looking to pour Motorcraft oil into?

The cam break in does not work. Only if the lifter bores are exact will it work and ask yourself, the likelyhood from a fixture to your block, what are the odds the lifter bores are in the dead on same spot and angle?
Asking a cast core cam to live at 6500 RPM and above for an entire season is asking a lot.
There are premium cores out there and I use a parkerizing service that really makes them a ton better.
Tooled steel lifters with EDM holes. Basic lifters with EDM holes will give up after time.
LS-x springs (machine guides) work very well.
Good oil is good oil for reason. Reading an analysis is nothing more than a magazine article. If the person writing it does like an oil,m he/she is going to say whatever they want.
Camshaft grinds that require a lot of last take their toll after a while. When I am doing a circle track cam and the focus is durability and not power, I tighten the lash. .012" - .014" sometimes .016". I am NOT saying that looser lash is better than tighter lash, it comes back to the lash DESIGNED in the lobe and that is damn near impossible to find out.
Do everything and YES it'll live. Don't do it or half ass do it and you will not make any gains.
Jay, you told me this years ago about Camresearch's "Cam King" that they claim is the solution to the break in procedure. You gave me the exact explanation above and I did not listen. I went and bought a cam from them for a 351W build. You were exactly right and the cam lobe went flat and the debris destroyed the rest of the motor. They had me send it in and eventually warrantied it after waiting an entire year! I ended up calling you back a couple years later and I went with an off the shelf recommendation when you first started offering that service. Car did exactly what you said it would do at the track and highway. Sorry, but we Live and learn. I should have listened!

If folks would just listen to me they would have more money and a faster car.
It gets old when people don't listen.
This is a general statement and is not intended foe any one single person.

I sure would have saved money if i had listened. It was a very costly mistake. What impressed me was when I spoke to you about an OTS recommendation back then. I gave you my combo and you recommended a totally different camshaft than I was planning and all the folks on the internet recommended. I listened (finally this time) and the car did everything that you said. It was an excellent daily driver and flew at the track. Never had a cam at that time with such great street manners yet great performance. I must of spent an hour on the phone with you which taught me more than folks could imagine in such a short period. As a consumer, that was worth far more to me than the mere fifty bucks you were charging at the time. I will definitely get my custom from you on the next combo also. Thanks for the great service btw...
