OK, I have'nt owned too many Ford's so I have a question. I just picked up a '87 Bronco, 4x4, 5.0 EFI, 4-spd manual. I changed the oil and it took 7 quarts to show in the full area of the dipstick. Is this normal?  I figured it would take 5 or maybe 6 quarts.  Thanks!

Also, I have been having all kinds of trouble fixing my exhaust, My engine has donut gaskets where the "y" pipe meets the manifolds, NAPA and everyone else tells me this is not what I have, I finally found a donut the right sioze and fixed my exhaust leak.  Plus all the parts diagrams show that I only have 1 cat on my truck, I (had ) 2.  Where do I find the engine number on the block or is there a easier way to identify the engine? It's supposed to be a 5.0, but I was thinking maybe someone stuck a 351w in there?

Thanks!

Engine casting numbers should be right above the starter on the very end of the block. You might have to remove the starter to see it.
