ford 9" rear-end swap
«

hey, im in the process of building my 88 gt, i have the chance to pick up a complete rebuilt ford 9" with "31 spline, 4 pinion lockers" for only 250 bucks...
not to worried about the price bc i can sell my current 8.8 to make back most of the money...
im not sure what modifacations will need to be done to put the 9" in there, any links would be great...
thanks a lot!
ps. i heard gear swaps are easier in this...comments

Pass on the 9''. You'll be money ahead to put the $250 in to your 8" and end up with less hassle. As far as 9''gear swaps go, they are easier to do IF you have another complete center section (or two) already set up.

how involved is the swap?
a lot of measuring, cutting and welding skills. plus knowing what rears are better candidates .
