Time for an upgrade.

I picked up one of the Ford Racing M-6011-BOSS302 kits last Thursday.

$1750, I could not pass it up.

Will be looking for a head and cam combo to top it soon.

Great deal yes...

But be adivsed... for a blower combo, I wouldnt use the rods.
Then you have the pistons.  Nice pistons, but they are not machined for a floating pin.  So you need new pistons with any H-beam rod.

With a Turbo...

Its funny how many of these high powered 3" stroke motors are talked about, but very rarely happen to make it to the strip and back up all the hype.

I have been looking at the Eagle 3D H beams and the coated Mahle's or a set from CHP.

Don't know yet how it is going to go.

It is really "busy" under the hood since the Novi. I like a simpler/cleaner engine.

I may go back N/A.

Have not decided yet.

The Novi 2000 is off and sold. (Sad, sad day!)

Car is back to N/A and God is it slow!

Going a new route.

Picked up a Turbonetics T76 BB unit.

I am going to put this on the new Boss long block. I am undecided on what CR to run with the turbo. It is going to stay a street car and will use 93 octane. I plan to run a fair amount of boost 12-18 lbs It also will be intercooled..

I have a set of SRP low comp pistons I could use, but they drop it to around 8.7 with the 58 cc heads I have. Another set of pistons I have been looking at, give me about 9.6 with the same heads. I fear that may be too high for the street.

Anyone have experience with similar combos?

Thanks,

Ben

Pump gas 93...

8.7 is pushing it.

You will make a lot more power with more timing than you would with more compression.
