I want to finally get rid of the EGR valve on my engine (h/c 302, stock efi).
I've been reading other threads, this in paticular http://sbftech.com/index.php/topic,2091.msg20189.html#msg20189, and I just don't seem to have all the junk that other cars have. All I see on my car is the vavle next the the TB spacer, the harness plug that goes into it, and the vacuum line on top of the valve is capped off.

Does it sound like most of the egr components were already removed, and the PO just left the valve there so he could plug in and not get an open circuit code?
If that's the case I would figure I could just block it off and get those little resistors like you mentioned in the previously linked thread, and call it a day? Am I way off here or not, this sort of stuff isn't my forte.

Thankyou,
Matt

Yep...... if the solenoid (EVR) is gone...... you already have the EGR deleted. The sensor is there only to provide the "closed valve voltage signal" and not let the CEL turn on, but the EGR is already disabled. Block plate + resistors and you're done + have a better looking engine bay.

thanks for the fast reply joel.

Given that the EVR is gone, which resistors in paticular do I need to trick the plug that plugs into the valve? I couldn't really tell in that other thread.

Thanks again,
Matt

You could either buy an EGR simulator plug or make your own resistors triangle as shown......

For the EVR and TAB/TAD solenoids..... get 3W 75 Ohm resistors and plug them to the connectors as shown.....
