Well, it's in....  Smiley

Mallory 140gph fuel pump and filter
Moroso fuel log with -6 line to carb (equal length lines)
-8 line for supply and return
Return line into old sending unit
New stock fuel tank
Sump from Mustangs Unlimited:  http://mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=FTS1+01

All in all, I think it turned out pretty good.  I hope it solves my fuel issues.  I haven't had a chance to actually drive the car around yet (too busy fixing leaks  Grin ), but it does run and idle at a little over 7 psi fuel pressure with no shims in the fuel log.

Thanks to everyone who gave me advice on this!

Thanks guys!  I have to give credit where credit is due.  My friend, Chris, did the welding of the sump, and my Dad did a lot of the work on the rest of it, made the brackets, and did the wiring.  I'd like to do something else besides hose clamps to hold the log in place, but that works for now.  Let's hope this keeps my fuel cooler!

Very, very nice!...I think that's how we're going to go on the 67.  It'll suit the EFI better than about anything else I think...and will make doing the whole fuel pump swap thing a lot easier down the road.  Plus I can just use the stock 3/8 as a return without messing with redesigning the thing.

Thanks!

Congrats on a project well done, that looks like a nice set up there. After you had the sump welded on was there anything special you had to do to the inside of the tank? Like get it resealed or coated?  I am getting the stuff together for my new fuel system which will be idetical to that set up with the pump, fuilter, line size and fuel log.

No, I didn't do anything to the inside of the tank.  I guess I'm not sure if I was supposed to, but it was a brand new tank and I just left it as it was.  Good luck with your project also  Smiley .

Are you running the braided line from your sump over the tank and down to the pump?  If so - I would (personally) rethink that routing.  You want as much gravity as possible on that fuel to the pump as they are much much better pushers than suckers.  Sometimes routing the line up and over can cause you cavitation and other headaches.

Just my opinion though...

The braided line actually goes around the left side of the tank to the front of the tank.  The level of the pump is below the supply, but the line does angle up at the sump before getting to the pump.  Do you think that will be okay?

You want as little of an angle as possible.  If it does not rise higher than the midpoint of the tank, you are probably fine...just keep fuel in the tank!

MM the fuel tank in these cars(mustangs/cougars) is the floor of the trunk so you can't run anything over top of the tank..
68Cat how do you have the fuel log attached?...I see the hose clamps but I don't see what its attached to?...
